Traditional and Modern Upholstery

Day And Week courses

Come and renovate that well loved chair or buy a bargain off ebay, it does not matter what condition it is in. Traditional and modern methods taught with expert tuition.

The range of fabrics available are huge, many on line and why not try a patchwork theme, or create that shabby chic look using vintage fabrics.

Experience & tools

Tuition is on an individual basis in all courses and students should bring a piece of furniture e.g chair, stool or headboard to the class, whether it be large or small and so long as it fits in your car!

Beginners and Improvers are both welcome at these classes but if you are a beginner it is better to start on a small project rather than a large armchair! Upholstery is addictive so beware!

Students bring anything from an old dilapidated chair to a chaise longue.

What will I learn?

The traditional method of upholstery using springs, hessian, hair etc.is taught but also modern techniques using rubberised hair, foam etc.

Cane seating and Rush work are also taught.
